Steven A. Hicks is an experienced trial lawyer who specializes in representing injured persons on
appeal in the state & federal courts.  He also assists trial counsel litigating cases in the lower courts.
Before focusing on appeals & consulting, Steve represented injured persons in the trial courts, where
he  handled cases involving motor vehicle accidents, no-fault insurance, premises liability, governmental
immunity, medical malpractice, insurance coverage, & employment discrimination. Steve graduated from
the University of Michigan Law School in 1992.  He is admitted to practice in all state & federal courts in
Michigan.  He is also licensed to practice law in Illinois. Steve is a member of the Executive Board of the
Michigan Association for Justice (MAJ). He testifies regularly for MAJ in legislative committee hearings
on proposed changes to existing law regarding personal injury & insurance claims. He also speaks at
MAJ seminars on topics such as no-fault insurance, government immunity, premises liability, appellate
practice, & insurance coverage. For many years, Steve taught no-fault insurance law as an adjunct
professor at Michigan State University Law School. He also has served as amicus counsel for the
Coalition to Protect Auto No-Fault (CPAN).
